INKJET

Do you know that your Inkjet Printer Cartridge can be re-used more than once?
Facts you should know about Ink Jet Printer Cartridges.

  • Ink jet printing technology is a complex technique.

  • Use good quality ink jet paper to reduce dust build up and get better quality prints.

  • If refilling, do not run the ink jet cartridges dry, as it is important to protect the nozzles.

  • When storing or transporting the inkjet cartridge protect the electronics by carrying it in the original box or protective headgear supplied with a refill.

Ink jet printing is quite a problem printing technique, but it is improving as OEMs improve the ink jet nozzles (heads) performance. Even with an original cartridge the nozzle itself can block. On top of that there are the easily damaged transistors.

Can all Inkjet Printer Cartridges be refilled?
No, not all inkjet printer cartridges can be refilled, and it is also a very tricky operation. We have to thoroughly clean the unit and test the electronics before we can refill and weight the cartridge. Then we test and inspect the print performance again.

Are warranties null and void?
Printer manufacturers will tell you that they do not support the refilling of their ink cartridges. Off course they are going to tell you that! Why would a company give someone permission to refill a cartridge at a fraction of the cost of a new original unit. If you take your printer into a manufacturer's service center with a refilled cartridge the first thing they tell you is they can't work on this because your problem lies with the refilled cartridge. So what do you do? You remove the refilled cartridge and take the printer back to the service center!

Don't let your cartridge dry out!
The number one refilling problem is a dried out cartridge. If your cartridge is removed from the printer and left empty for more than one hour, the ink will dry and clog the micro holes at the outlet of the print head. When refilled, your cartridge may produce a sub-standard print quality such as streaks or dull output. Place your cartridge in a ziplock bag with a damp cloth to keep the cartridge moist until you can refill it. The best way to keep your printer running is to have a backup cartridge. Keep the backups filled. When the one in the printer goes empty, put in the backup. Then refill the empty cartridge as soon as possible. Keep this cartridge in its packaging and protect the electronics.

Burned up cartridges
Bubble jet cartridges have electrical resistors that control the current to each outlet jet. These transistors must stay fixed in terms of their resistance or ohms. When they overheat the resistance changes. After overheating the resistance value may not be in the acceptable range and this will present itself as a low quality output, either colour distribution or weak printing or both. The ink in the cartridge keeps these resistors cool and prevents overheating, like the coolant inside a motorcar's engine. However, when the cartridge goes empty and the printer keeps trying to print, overheating occurs. If you continue to try and print, each time the electronics will suffer damage and eventually burn out. This is why inkjet cartridges have a limited life in terms of how may times they can be refilled. Each time there is a no ink situation and the resistors overheat the life of the cartridge is diminished. The remedy here is of course a new cartridge. To extend life, refill your cartridge at the first sign of low ink.

What if my CIS refilled cartridge doesn't work?
Hopefully you will never have a problem, but in the unlikely event that you have a problem with your CIS refilled inkjet cartridge then we will be there for you. Return the cartridge to us for checking and or a refund.
